Assurance by MLA Yogesh Kadam and MLA Shekhar Nikam to the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
The birth place of the great patriot Lokmanya Tilak in Ratnagiri is still under grave neglect. The birthplace falls under the Department of Archeology, Ratnagiri, Government of Maharashtra. An Urdu Bhavan has been announced at Ratnagiri; however, the government has shown apathy towards the birthplace which is a national heritage site. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti shared the information received under the Right to Information Act and the documents regarding the various agitations and memoranda from across the state to MLA Yogesh Kadam and MLA Shekhar Nikam. “We will discuss this with the District Magistrate and Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar,” they said.
The Samiti delegation also raised the issue of unchecked ticket prices being levied by private travels, which ultimately is a burden to the common man. MLA Yogesh Kadam was also requested that the government should look into this and solve this issue.
