Mumbai – Hearing was held at Mumbai High Court on 11th October, on a petition filed for seeking permission to open slaughter houses in the area only on 16th October, the day of Bakri Eid; as increase in work-load creates stress on the slaughter house at Deonar. The Bench of Mumbai High Court comprising of Judges Satyaranjan Dharmadhikari and Gautam Patel opined that there was no need to urgently take any decision on this issue and during the next hearing after 4 weeks, decision would be taken. The Court has thus, indirectly refused permission to Muslims for opening slaughter houses on temporary basis, on the occasion of Eid. (Police should urgently conduct raids to locate slaughter houses which are otherwise run in unauthorised manner and take action ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Samasher Khan Pathan, the President of ‘Avami Vikas Party’ had filed such PIL last year when Dhananjay Chandrachood, the then Judge of the Bench had set up a committee with former Police Commissioner, Ribeiro. The Committee gave positive response to opening of slaughter houses on temporary basis. While pleading the case   before the Bench of Judge Dharmadhikari, advocate of Pathan made a mention of report of the said Committee.

Why the Court has to give direction ? Why don’t the police take any action on their own against illegal matters ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat

Police should take immediate action against those involved in illegal slaughtering of cows / cattle ! – High Court

In another petition filed by ‘Bharateeya Gou-vansh Rakshan Samvardhan Parishada’, Justice Chandrachood had said, “Wherever the petitioners notice illegal slaughtering of cows/ cattle taking place on the occasion of Eid, they should inform the Dy. Commissioner of Police from that area; instead of conducting raids directly and police should promptly take action against such unauthorised slaughter-houses.” (It means that police were not taking prompt action. Why police show such extreme indifference whenever issue is related to Muslims ? How do they take prompt action only against Hindus ? What is the use of secular democracy with biased police department ?  – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
