Programme by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
Bhokarpada (Panvel, Maharashtra) – Training classes in self-defence for women are conducted here by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Samiti organised a programme for collective worship of Goddess Saraswati and arms on the occasion of Vijayadashami; in order to enhance willpower of women. At the start of the programme, ‘puja’ of Goddess Saraswati was performed at the hands of Shri. Dattatraya Govind Patil, Police Patil of Bhokarpada. Later, household articles like slate and Holy texts were worshipped. ‘Empowerment of women is essential to counter the atrocities committed constantly against them. In view of this, all women must train themselves in self-defence .’ This opinion was expressed by Shri. Vishnu Pawar of Shree Sampraday on this occasion. Sau. Arpita Pathak of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was also present. She emphasised the need for Hindus to develop love and respect towards f Dharma and devout Hindus to become active, for improving the present state of Hindus. Fifty five villagers benefited from the programme.
