Donating for Dharmakarya : A path of Sadhana

In a way, donating amounts to sacrificing. Donation according to Shandilyopanishad means offering wealth or items earned in a rightful manner with faith. Donating wealth leads to Moksha. Hence, it is a path of sadhana for all varnas.

Importance of donating according to the times

Mahabharat says that Tapa in Krutayug, Dnyan in Tretayug, Yadnya in Dwaparyug and donating in Kaliyug are most important. For humans, who are far from Tapa, Dnyan and Yadnya in Kaliyug, donating is a simple way. According to our scriptures, donations should be to one who ‘deserves’. Hence, donations should only be made to Dharmagurus, Saints and organisations that work to serve the Nation and Dharma without any expectations.

Donating for Dharma amounts to Dharmapalan

Many regret that despite intense desire they are not able to give time to participate in the mission of Nation and Dharma. If you cannot give time for activities or participate physically, you can participate by donating wealth or items and obtain God’s grace.
