Hubli (Karnataka) : Sriram Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) staged demonstrations in front of small ‘Vidhan Sabha’ to protest against ‘Vivah Bhagya Yojana’ started by the State Government only for Muslims. Shri. Pramod Mutalik, the President of Sriram Sena, its members Shri. Gangadhar Kulkarni, Shri. Kumar Hakare, Shri. Ashok and Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the national spokesperson of HJS and Shri. Mohan Gauda, its State-coordinator were present.

Shri. Mutalik said, “Karnataka Government is undertaking such scheme only to appease Muslims. This scheme is against the Constitution of India and if the Government does not cancel it immediately, state-wide agitations will be held. The former Chief Minister Yediyurappa had said that the scheme would be opposed if operated only for Muslims and had supported activities undertaken to protest against the said scheme. The scheme should be made applicable to all.”

Shri. Ramesh Shinde said, “The State Government is giving Rs. 50,000/- for every marriage. Today, Muslims have 4 marriages and get Rs. 2 lakhs. As per the Constitution of India, there should be only one marriage; but in our country, Muslims don’t abide by law. Everyone is cheating the Government, is what Shri. Parameshwar of Congress says. It means that he is justifying cheating if it is done by all. In that case, why should taxes be paid to those, who are looting people’s money ? This scheme should be cancelled with immediate effect.
