Devout Hindus’ spontaneous response to HJS ‘Satsang Mahotsava’ !

Chennai – ‘Satsang Mahotsava’ was organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on Sunday, 10th November between 4.00 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. which was attended by 16 devout Hindus. The program was started with reciting ‘aarti’ of Bhagavan Srikrushna and prayers. Shri. P. Prabhakaran explained the purpose of holding ‘satsang’. The participants were divided in two groups and review was taken of their ‘Vyashti sadhana (individual spiritual practice)’ with emphasise on 4 main points like their chanting, ‘satseva’, spiritual remedies and writing of mistakes. Seekers participating in ‘satsang’ spontaneously narrated their spiritual experiences.

Sou. Sugandhi Jaikumar explained about opporunity of seva through medium like ‘Facebook’. Sou. Rupa Shetty told about importance of looking after ‘seva-kendras’ in Chennai. Shri. Kashinath explained about different sevas suggesting that devout Hindus can take up seva of their liking. The program was concluded with expressing gratitude at the feet of H. H. Gurudev.

Highlights

1. Sou. Charulata and Sou. Rajlakshmi offered to do seva of translation of matter from English to Tamil.

2. Shri. Chandrashekharan showed readiness to translate English articles in Tamil.

3. Sou. Ramalakshmi also was ready to take up translation seva; besides making arrangements of food for Saints.

4. Shri. Vivek was ready to sponsor Tamil ‘Sanatan Panchangs’.

5. Shri. Avadhi Ravichandran has started a magazine in Tamil called ‘Tamiz Desam’ through which he offered to publish activities of Sanatan.

6. Two devout Hindus showed readiness to do seva at ‘Seva-kendra’.

Good response received to New satsang at Kolathur (Chennai)        


Chennai – On 9th November 2013, ‘satsang’ was started at Vinayagpuram, Kolathur which received good response. Sou. Sugandhi Jaikumar guided the participants; Shri. Kashinath Shetty took up seva of book-exhibition. The ‘satsang’ was attended by 26 women.

Highlights

1. All participating women in satsang were new; but they took part in the discussions.

2. It was decided to hold satsangs once in two weeks between 11.00 am. and 12.00 noon.

3. Family members of Srinivasan anna is very ‘sattvik’ and they took part in hall-seva and contacting people.

4. I had a strong wish that satsang should be started at Kolathur. I had prayed for it on the day of Vinayak Chaturthi. My prayers were answered by God and with the help of Shri. Vinayak Shanbhag, satsang has been started at Kolathur. – Sou. Uma Ravichandran, Chennai

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti took part in ‘Bal-sanskar’ organised at Sokarpet, Chennai

Chennai – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti took part in ‘Bal-sanskar’ class organised by few devout Hindus at Sokarpet, Chennai. About 300 children attended this ‘Bal-sanskar’ class.  They were shown VCD on ‘Dharma-shikshan’. How to celebrate birthdays as per Indian culture, science behind paying obeisance and shaking hands was explained; effect of saying ‘hello’ instead of ‘namaskar’ while talking over phone was also explained. Shri. Sarvanan and Sou. Uma Ravichandran took part on behalf of HJS.

The organisers requested HJS to take part in ‘Bal-sanskar’ classes at least once in a month. They also informed that 600 – 700 children were likely to attend this class regularly. The organisers are trying to distribute ‘Sanatan Hindi Panchang – 2014’ to children.
