Investigate involvement of PFI or Naxalites ! – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti
There was a firing at advocate Krishnamurthy who is representing devout Hindus in Gauri Lankesh murder case. Advocate Krishnamurthy was returning in his car after attending a meeting of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The firing took place while he was travelling from Chettalli to Madikeri (Dist. Coorg). Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has strongly condemned this cowardly attack. Mr Mohan Gowda, the State Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Karnataka has demanded an immediate Police probe to find the persons involved in this attack; who is going to be benefited by attacking the advocate and to reach the attackers and mastermind of this attack.

The attack on the main advocate representing the accused devout Hindus in Gauri Lankesh murder case is a serious and suspicious matter. Gauri Lankesh had earlier talked about her contacts with the naxalites and the naxalites had condemned the murder of Gauri Lankesh. In this background, such an attack could be an attempt to pressurise the advocates helping in this case. Mr Gowda also stated that although advocate Krishnamurthy has survived in this attack, repetition of such attacks cannot be ruled out. He should be provided armed protection. Mr Gowda stated that it is necessary to investigate the possibility of involvement of a radical jihadi organisation like ‘The Popular Front of India (PFI)’ or the naxalite supporters of Gauri Lankesh.
Advocate Krishnamurthy has no enemies. He takes an active part in matters related to ‘Hindutva’; therefore, only this could be the reason for the attack. It is an attack on ‘Hindutva’. This organised crime should be quashed and the mastermind of this attack be apprehended, demanded HJS. In this connection, HJS will soon meet the State Inspector-General of Police and submit to him the same demands, as mentioned above. Many devout Hindu leaders and activists have been brutally attacked even earlier in Karnataka and many have been killed; therefore, severe action should be taken against the assailants who are disturbing law and order in the State. Advocate Krishnamurthy had received a threat earlier from PFI, the terrorist organisation.
