First day of Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati Maharaj in Goa

  1. Assistant Executive Manager of Konkan Railway, Shri. S. K. Bala and his wife Mrs. Shirabdi Bala reached the station one hour early for welcoming Srimat Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati Maharaj.
  2. Konkan Railway administration extended full cooperation in connection with arrival of  Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati Maharaj at Mudgaon station. Shri. Bala, Railway’s administrative officer paid personal attention and was giving necessary instructions to his staff in the matter. Station Superintendent Rajkumar Chaudhary also cooperated with the arrangements.
  3. At 8.00 a.m., Jagatguru Shankaracharya reached Goa by Mumbai – Mangaluru Express.
  4. Assistant Executive Manager of Konkan Railway, Shri. S. K. Bala and his wife, Mrs. Shirabdi Bala, Dr. Manoj Solanki of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha’s Executive Secretary, Shri. Chetan Rajhans and Shri. Rupesh Redkar were present at the station to welcome Shankaracharya.
  5. After confirming that all the luggage was unloaded from the train, Shankaracharya walked the platform and went to the vehicle waiting for him, without taking assistance of wheel-chair.
  6. While walking on the platform, he talked very informally to the persons who had gone to receive him. He asked railway officer, Shri. Bala about the population of Goa and whether return tickets would be available.
  7. After checking that all persons accompanying him, were seated in the vehicle along with luggage, the fleet of vehicles left for Ramnathi ashram with Shankaracharya’s permission.
  8. Shankaracharya reached Ramnathi ashram at 8.45 a.m.

We are blessed to get ‘darshan’ of Shankaracharya ! – Sou. and Shri. S. K. Bala

We are lucky to get ‘darshan’ of Shankaracharya. We could never see him so closely although we are from Odisha. I had gone for his guidance about 30 years back and now, I got this opportunity.
