Tobacco Manufacturer continues to denigrate Saint Tulsidas!

Mathura: A photo of the revered saint Swami Tulsidas is printed on the packaging of a tobacco produced by the Dharmapal-Satyapal Company Ltd. and it is distributed all over India. After taking out the tobacco, the packaging is thrown away; this results in denigration of the saint.

Several Hindus have requested the Manufacturer to remove the photo of the saint from the packaging but their appeals have fallen on deaf ears. Four months ago 40 saints from North India signed a memorandum in this regard. It was submitted by the HJS to the Manufacturer, Dharmapal-Satyapal Company Ltd. But they did not withdraw the packaging. Two months ago a legal notice was served on them by the HJS but the till date the company has not responded to it and sale of the tobacco in the same packing continues.

After examining the legal aspects, the HJS is planning to file a petition against the company in the court. The convenor of the HJS in North India, Mr. Purushottamdas has appealed to all Hindu organizations and individuals to express their opposition to this denigration through letters, e-mail or telephone.
