Police treat Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) as a racist organisation only because there is ‘Hindu’ in its name and ask for proofs of oppression on Pakistani Hindus !
An activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had gone to local police station in one city for obtaining permission for holding ‘Rashtreeya Hindu Andolan’ for the demand of giving Indian citizenship to Hindu refugees from Pakistan. Police from that police station harassed him by asking several questions and made even baseless accusations against him. HJS’ agitation was to be staged in lawful manner; still police branded it as racist. The agitation by HJS was for Hindus who have come from Pakistan as refugees; but before granting permission, police asked many questions exhibiting their ignorance. The conversation which took place between this activist and police is given below.
Activist (A) : I have come for permission for demonstrations.
Police (P) : All the time you are holding demonstrations ? (Police who do not want to do anything; but oppose to those, who want to do something ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
A : Sir, we don’t hold demonstrations regularly. Last demonstration was held before two months. This demonstration is on Sunday, a holiday.
P : What do your people talk about ? Their people come in hundreds. (The activist realised that by ‘their’ people, police meant people of other religions.)
A : We are not concerned with other people. We have never done any unlawful thing during our agitations.
P : Not in the last; but you did in one before it; and we had issued notice to you.
A: What wrong did we do that time; pl. tell me. In fact, we had discussed the matter with you after demonstrations and as was told by ‘Sir’, we concluded the agitation one hour before scheduled time.
P: Ok, now what is the issue this time ?
A : To give citizenship to Hindu refugees who have come from Pakistan.
P : Why have you written as ‘refugees’ ? What is meant by refugees ? (Are those, who do not even know the meaning of the word refugee, fit to work in police department ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
A: Those who have come to India for shelter.
P: No, it means something different.
Another Police (P-2) : Don’t people come from USA ? Why no demonstarions for them ? (Without understanding what is meant by agitation, police ask useless and ridiculous questions ! How the police department must be run when the staff has no general knowledge ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
A : In Pakistan, Hindus are oppressed; therefore, they come to India.
P : Do you have any proof; show me ? (Many news items have been published in various newspapers about Hindu refugees from Pakistan; even then asking for proof is a deliberate way of suppressing Hindus’ demonstrations ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
A : Many people have come to Delhi. News about it was published in ‘Dainik Saamnaa’ and refugees have been coming right from 1947 and not from now.
P : Why have you said efugees from Pakistan ? Say Hindus, who have come from Pakistan, should be given citizenship.
A : Some prople come from Pakistan on VISA and they want to go back. How can we say that they should also be given citizenship. Those, who have come here for shelter, should only be given citizenship.
P : See, your organisation is a communal organisation. (Calling an organisation engaged in activities for protection of nation and Dharma as communal, is deliberate defamation of HJS ! Police get beaten by fanatics in riots instigated by them and bow before them; but call pro-Hindu organisations as communal. It is condemnable ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) We have a noting made; there is ‘Hindu’ word in it.
A : There are many such organisations.
P : Who all are coming for demonstrations ?
A: Local citizens.
P : Give their names; if any senior citizens are coming, give their names too.
(Wrote names behind the application. In that, two names were of members of one political party. Police took objection to one name.)
P : Is this member coming ?
A : Yes, he had come even earlier.
P : We have his history. We know about him.
P-2 : You have written ‘from Pakistan’; therefore, we cannot give permission. Go, meet our senior person.
A : Ok (They took him to senior police inspector.)
Senior police inspector (PI) : Come, what is the matter ?
A : There is demonstration as usual.
PI : On what issue ?
(A) gives details.
PI : Who are going to be there ?
A : Local organisations.
PI : There should be nobody from Sanatan ! (When Sanatan’s activities are transparent and when Sanatan is innocent, police are opposing Sanatan seekers to take part in demonstration; this is Sanatan-hatred of police ! Do they tell such things to fanatic organisations ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
PI : Earlier, few people tried to burn effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh; those women ran away. We had tried to nab them.
A : When did this happen Sir ?
PI : Six months back.
A : Such things have never happened during our agitations. That could have been organised by some other party. (HJS agitations are always held in lawful manner. Even then, police officers trying to falsely accuse HJS of something that it has not done. Will such police maintain law and order in the country ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
PI : We have such information. (Police administration makes false charges without any hesitation ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
One police (telling PI) : Deny permission in the name of possibility of causing tension; do not give permission. (Police behave as if in Mughal regime ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
A : No Sir, we will take care as per your instructions.
(A took signature on one copy of application as acknowledgement.)
