Latest Update: HJS protests: Sharma withdraws painting, Mumbai Mirror apologises!
Mumbai: An Exhibition of paintings by Painter Shri. Dileep Sharma has been arranged in the Articulate gallery at Fort. This exhibition will continue upto 15th of April. In one of his painting Shri. Dileep Sharma has shown an ‘Amazonian’ lady dressed scantily and behaving shamelessly with a tail on her back. Lord Hanuman is shown dressed in jeans and T-shirt holding ‘Gada’ (mace) in his hand.
Lord Hanuman is shown providing power to this lady with his finger. In this perverted painting the lady carries a tattoo of Lord Hanuman on the naked portion of her body and Lord Hanuman is shown to behave like a street side Romeo. By painting such an objectionable piece Shri. Sharma has hurt the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus. ABVP has taken a strong objection to this painting. This painting is published in the ‘Mumbai Mirror’ of Times group, dated 7th April 2007 on page no. 48.
