Mathura (UP) – Past few days Railway authorities had been bulldozing the encroachment on the Railway land behind Shrikrushna Janmabhoomi. Yakub Shah had file a case in the Supreme Court to get a stay order against this action. The petitioner had accused that more than 100 houses were demolished and only 80 remained. Railways had begun this action from 9th of August, from the area, known as ‘Naveen Basti’ in Mathura, as it was declared encroachment. Railways were working on a project to convert narrow gauge into broad gauge route of 21 km. from this area of Mathura to Vrundavan. The petitioner Yakub said that this issue could not be taken to the High Court as lawyers in the State were on strike. They were compelled to run to the Supreme Court.
