PM Modi’s instruction to all Union Ministers on DMK Leader’s “Sanatana” Remark

Give a befitting response to Udhayanidhi’s statement

New Delhi: PM Modi has commented for the first time upon the remark of Minister Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu’s CM MK Stalin about Sanatan Dharma. PM Modi in an informal chat with the ministers during the Cabinet meeting raised the issue and said the ministers should give a befitting reply.

They should learn about the subject and present facts to counter the opposition leaders in the Sanatan row without letting the India versus Bharat controversy eclipse the Sanatan row. PM Modi also cautioned that only party Spokespersons should speak on the India versus Bharat issue.

The minister, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, has refused to apologise for his comment that Sanatana Dharma is akin to a disease and “should be eradicated”.

He has repeatedly said he is ready to face any legal action for his comments. There are reports that attempts are being made to get the Tamil Nadu Governor’s sanction to initiate action against him.
