Thane: Condition of Hindus is deteriorating due to assaults on Hindu Dharma and lack of ‘Dharma-shikshan’. It is therefore, essential to create awareness among Hindus towards their Dharma for its revitalization. Sanatan periodicals are dedicated to carrying on the same job. On the occasion of ‘Daily Sanatan Prabhat’s 7 th and ‘Weekly Sanatan Prabhat’s 9th anniversary, a meeting was organized at Sahakar Mandir hall in Thane to unite Hindus. There was a very good response from devout Hindus.

Shri. Milind Gadgil, the renowned economist and a war journalist was the chief guest of the program. He said that Hindu unity is the need of the hour and Sanatan Sanstha is taking care of this need. He also prayed for the mission to succeed. He said further, "Today Hindu Dharma is being assaulted through various means. There are conversions, incidents of denigration of deities, ridiculing our history. Hindus should therefore, unite to stop such assaults. He told that recently while passing by Mahim, he observed that one old temple in fishermen colony near Mahim College was demolished and there was a Cross in its place. This indicated that those people have been converted. He said that then he realized the gravity of the problem. Hindus should therefore, increase their ‘Kshatra-vrutti’. About Hindu Dharma, he said that Hindu Dharma is perfect, ideal and all encompassing. It takes care of every living being. Till the beginning of 17th century, Hindustan was leading in business and trade. Out of total trade, 40% of it was in the hands of Hindustan. Hindus were very honest and did not discriminate. The whole world was happy. But, later, trade shifted to others and discrimination started. Values propagated in Hindu culture have spread all over the world. Hindus never converted anyone by force. Our culture is so great that the need was never felt.

Dr. Durgesh Samant, the all India spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) said that we must fight against the continuous attacks on Hindu Dharma, time has come to develop capacity in us to resist and retaliate such attacks. It is our duty to protect Hindu Dharma. He said that tolerance to other religions is found only in Hindu Dharma otherwise religions preaching ‘one God’ principle are either ready to convert others or ready to kill those following other religion. Had this principle been followed, the world would not have known what tolerance is. Hindu Dharma is the only religion to give perspective about attaining peace of mind. It is our duty to make efforts to save Hindu Dharma.

Many leaders of Hindu organizations like Dr. Sudhir Ranade of VHP, Shri. Waman Prabhudesai, ex-Director of Pitambari Marketing, Shri. Vidyadhar Thanekar from Swatantryaveer Sawarkar Pratishthan, Shri. Anil More of Bajarang Dal and Shri. Ajay Sambhus and Shri. Prashant Kulkarni of HJS attended the meeting.
