Hyderabad (Telangana) – “Modern medicine and spirituality need to go hand in hand. If this is done, all the problems arising from external and internal pollution will be solved”, stated the National Guide of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Sadguru Dr Charudatta Pingle. He made these crucial remarks while addressing a seminar on ‘Epigenetic, Belief and Spirituality’ on 16th March, the third day of the Global Spirituality Mahotsav held here. A person’s behaviour and speech are based on their genes. In short, a person’s behaviour changes according to genetic changes. It obviously affects the environment as well. This study is called ‘epigenetics’.

At this time, Sadguru Pingle was asked, ‘How can spirituality affect chromosomes?’ He replied, “The state of mind keeps changing due to defects in the person’s nature and ego. Changes in your mind cause chemical changes in your body. These cause biological changes and affect your chromosomes.”

Problems like negative changes in chromosomes can only be solved through spiritual practice – Sadguru Dr Charudatta Pingle

While elaborating on this topic, Sadguru Dr Pingle said, “Science works at the macro level while spirituality works at the micro level, i.e. mind-intellect-chitta (unconscious mind). Science is also slowly beginning to work at the micro level; but spirituality goes further than that and works at subtler and the subtlest level. Universal energy also affects chromosomes. Universal subtle energy is also an energy and it is called ‘Pitru Urja’ (Ancestral Energy) i.e. Pitrudosh. It also affects the fetus. Hence, it is possible to solve problems like negative changes in chromosomes, as well as infertility, only by spiritual practice along with the modern medical methods.” Gynecologist Dr Rajvi Mehta also expressed her views.
