Shri. Ravindran, the President & Founder of ‘Kerala Mandir Paripalan Samiti’
A huge general meeting was organized on 20 April 2007 at Nare Park, Mumbai to oppose the (Blind) Faith Eradication bill and Temple Takeover Bill. Below is the gist of the speech given by Shri. Ravindran, the President and Founder of ‘Kerala Mandir Paripalan Samiti’.
Maharashtra Government should not pass the Act to take over management of temples. I have come here to discuss further course of action. We have collected money from South Indians to construct temples and I have done construction jobs of carrying cement, bricks etc. We have toiled to construct these temples. The State Government did not provide electricity, water free nor have we received any financial help from the State Govt. If the Govt. has not helped us in any way to erect these temples, then what right the Govt. has to take over control. Leaders of Opposition in the State declared in this meeting that it is the ploy of Govt. against Hinduism. This is true. But we have also hatched a plot against the Govt. and I shall tell you how. In the forthcoming elections, every priest of 4.5 lac temples will vote against the govt. We are going to tell these priests to prepare 9 persons who would vote against the Govt. That would be 45 lacs of votes. Besides, there are about 30 members connected to each temple including the trustees and management committee. Thus the no. of votes going against the Govt. will be 1 crore and 35 lacs resulting in fall of the coalition Govt.
All those MLAs, MPs and ministers who do not raise their voice for protection of Hindu Dharma, have no moral right to hold that post. If you as MLA or MP or minister, industrialist or an average citizen are not ready to take to the street for protection of Hindu Dharma, then you have no right to live as a Hindu on this holy land. We are starting the campaign with workers in about 3000 South Indian temples by sending SMS, emails, letters to implement our plan. Members of sects and institutions who have not yet participated in this mission, it is a warning to them also. Some people feel that let the Bill be passed then we shall take action. But once the Bill is approved in the Legislative Assembly and is signed by the Governor, we can not stop it. Therefore, we have to try that such Bill is not presented in the Assembly; only then shall we succeed. We do not have an army to fight for us; but we have 4.5 lacs deities on our side, so ultimate victory will be ours. This is only a beginning of our fight. All South Indian temples in this State will support this agitation.
