Accusing him of hurting Hindu sentiments through his works, the Bajrang Dal today sought the ”immediate arrest” of celebrated painter M F Hussain.
According to a spokesman for the organisation, it will oppose any exhibition of Hussain’s works in the capital.
He regretted that despite having hurt the sentiments of Hindus many a time through his paintings, he had not been arrested so far.
The demand comes close on the heels of the arrest of the editor and chairman of a fortnightly magazine here following the publication of a controversial cartoon that has angered Muslims the world over.
RSS-affiliated organisations have stepped up a campaign against Hussain in the wake of agitations by Muslims over the cartoons.
