Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) : Peeved over the refusal of people in nominated posts like the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD) to resign even after it came to power, the Chandrababu Naidu Government has decided to scrap all temple trust boards. An ordinance to the effect is likely to be issued on Saturday. Soon after AP government’s announcement that it was contemplating to issue an ordinance, TTD Chairman K Bapiraju announced that he had decided not to quit as his conscience did not allow him to do so.

He said he would go only if the state government scrapped the TTD board by an ordinance before the expiry of his term on August 31. Meanwhile, aspirants for the most coveted post at TTD have intensified their lobbying. Several leaders including Murali Mohan and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, producer D Ramanaidu, director K Raghavendra Rao, G Muddukrishnama Naidu and Chadalawada Krishnamurthy are said to have jumped in the fray. Some of them called on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who is on two-day official tour of Visakahaptanam,  and expressed their strong desire to assume the post. Sources said that Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao was a strong contender for the post. Rumours are also rife that some Telangana TDP leaders are vying to be members of the TTD Board.
