Foolish and a terrible solution to a comparatively simple problem suggested by Hindus !
|
Ratnagiri (Maharashtra) : Dattaram Surve, a local resident from Ratnagiri has written to the District Collector for dissolving board of trustees of Ganapatipule Devasthan and for taking over management of temple owing to never-ending fight between Ganapati-Pule Devasthan and the Gram Panchayat. (When Government takes over management of temples, the money offered with faith by devotees to the temple, is utilized for welfare of organizations of followers of other religions instead of using it for development of Devasthan and ‘Dharma-karya’; also, it has been found that in almost every temple, taken over by the Government, there are incidents of malpractices and corruption; even then, making demand of Government taking over management of temples is like shooting self in foot. Hindus should realize that it is also a kind of harm which is detrimental to Dharma ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
It has been stated in the representation by Surve that the dispute between Ganapati-Pule Devasthan and Gram-Panchayat seems to be growing serious with no solution in sight. Sarpanch, Dy. Sarpanch and few members of Gram Panchayat have resigned from their post due to this dispute and ‘Gram-sabha’ scheduled on 26th August, could not be held.
Earlier, there were residents from Nevare, Ganapati-Pule, Malgund and Bhandarpule etc. in the Devasthan committee; but now, persons from only one community are dominating the board of Trustees. Works undertaken by Devasthan are not approved by Gram-panchayat; therefore, as a President of development project-plan of Ganapati-Pule, the District Collector should take over management of the temple considering the situation and to avoid further clashes. (The solution is to hold discussions between Devasthan committee and Gram-Panchayat and take decision as per Dharma-shastra. Handing over management of temple to Government is not the solution to the dilemma. Hindus need to realize the significance of temples and try to save temples which are source of ‘chaitanya’ (Divine Consciousness) ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
