Bhadrapad Krushnapaksha 5, Kaliyug Varsha 5116
Kathmandu (Nepal) – On 5th September, H.H. Dr. Charudatta Pingale guided on the topic of ‘Eternity of Hindu Philosophy’ in a program organized for students of second and third year of Public Relations Department of Kathmandu University here. 18 students and 3 lecturers attended the program. H.H. (Dr.) Charudatta Pingale first explained the theory part of the above topic wherein he said,
Truth is Eternal
1. Truth is eternal as heat in fire and sweetness in sugar is ever-lasting. Every person is facing many problems these days and is in search of happiness.
Chanting God's name is an easy method of spiritual practice
2. In Hindu Dharma, many paths are available for seeking happiness which are appropriate as per the time. (e.g. Dnyan-Yoga, Karma-Yoga, Bhakti-Yoga and meditation etc.) Under all these paths, however, it is necessary to merge with God for finding eternal truth. In Kali-Yuga, chanting is the easy and simple method of spiritual practice.
3. There are no restrictions for chanting God’s name. Firstly, one should chant one’s Family Deity (Kul-Devata)’s name and chant ‘Sri Gurudev Datta’. We are born in such a family in which we can progress spiritually. It is, therefore, necessary to chant one’s family Deity’s name; besides, we face many problems in life owing to deeds of our ancestors; therefore, chanting of ‘Sri Gurudev Datta’ is essential. More one does chanting, more is its benefit.
With spiritual practice, our personality defects and ego reduce and we experience bliss and peace
4. Our sense organs give us knowledge of sound, touch, form, taste, smell etc. of things; similarly, chanting gives us spiritual experience related to God. It is necessary to remove one’s personality defects and ego; along with chanting. Our personality defects not only create problems for us but also for others; same is the case with increase in ego. With spiritual practice, our personality defects and ego reduce and we experience bliss and peace. This practice is being followed in Hindu Dharma since time immemorial and this principle is eternal like Vedic Dharma.
Later, H.H. Dr. Pingale clarified doubts of members of audience.
