Pune (Maharashtra) : Warakari Sampradaya has time and again raised their voice for implementation of Act banning cow-slaughter. On recent ‘Ashadhi Ekadashi’ also, demonstration was staged for implementation of this Act; when the Chief Minister had promised that Warakaris would be called for discussions on the issue within 15 days; but even after 3 months, no invitation has been received for discussions.

A doubt is, therefore, felt whether the State Government has genuine interest in passing this Act or not. The Bill regarding imposition of ban on cow-slaughter was passed in both the Houses of Legislative Assembly in 1995; still for the past 19 years, the Act could not be passed; so, the Government responsible for cow-slaughter has no right to be in power. The above frank views were expressed by Santaveer H.B.P. Bandatatya Karadkar. He was speaking during a press conference held at Sambhajinagar to inform the Government of rally proposed to be held for creating awareness in the State Government towards passing of law banning cow-slaughter as elections are round the corner.

H.B.P. Narhari Maharaj Chaudhary, the Secretary of ‘Maharashtra Rajya Warakari Mahamandal’, H.B.P. Ghanashyam Maharaj Nandgaonkar and Shri. Mohanrao Shinde were present on the occasion.

Ban on cow-slaughter is a burning national issue !

H.B.P. Karadkar said further, “None of the Bills has been kept pending for so long. Unfortunately, the issue is looked from only religious angle. It is posed that the issue is important only for Hindus and not for followers of other religions. In fact, it is a burning national issue. We will tell during these election that who is responsible for such condition. People need to think with proper discretion, appealed H.B.P. Karadkar. H.B.P. Chaudhary Maharaj also accused the Government of playing politics of votes and deliberately ignoring the issue of cow-slaughter.
