A committee set up to release Sree Krushna idol

Jalgaon: An idol of Sree Krushna installed in Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj temple was alleged to be identical to the idol owned by Swadhyaya Parivar and the Parivar filed a case under breach of ‘Copy-right’. The State Government, therefore, took the idol in its custody and it has been in captivity for the past 4 years. A meeting was recently held by Vishwa Warkari Sena under the chairmanship of Shri. Ramdas Patil wherein it was decided to set up an action committee for release of the Sree Krushna idol. The police have shown their inability to take any action for release of the idol as the matter is sub judice. Some Krushna devotees have demanded to install the idol in Sree Rama temple in the police premises. But Swadhyaya Parivar has opposed even such demand. The idol therefore, remains in the custody of police and the denigration continues. The committee feels that there is no alternative but to stage agitation for release of the idol. Shri. Patil informed that meetings will be held in all parts of the State to create awareness among people.
