Rally of Dharma Gurus to protect ‘Sree Rama Setu’

Pune: All Hindu Dharma-Gurus have opposed the Central Government’s project to demolish ‘Sree Rama Setu’ which is the symbol of Indian culture. The destruction of the ‘setu’ will also result in adversely affecting the environment, said Shri. Shankardatta Mahashabde, a representative of Dwaraka Sharadapeeth in a press conference. He informed about the rally proposed to be taken out by all Dharma-Gurus on 13 th May in Delhi as a mark of protest against the Government’s decision.

Although there is opposition from various quarters for demolition of the ‘setu’, the Govt. is still planning to go ahead. ‘Sree Rama setu’ is a place of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Demolition of the ‘setu’ is like destroying and disrespecting feelings of thousands of Hindus. But the Government is planning to break the ‘setu’ for insignificant benefit. The Government has an evil eye on ‘setu’ which was a witness to many events during the era of Sree Rama. He said that it was proposed to meet the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this context and he will be given a representation signed by thousands of supporters. Dr. Vijay Bhatakar, a senior computer expert has also supported the rally.
