Nowadays people have started a competition to do something different. This had entered in the area of sculptures and idols of Gods too. Artists try to do something special and distinct. It had lead to creations of idols with food items, wastage, papers, glasses, sweets, dry fruits etc. According to Murti Vidhyan (Science of idols) and Ganesh Purana, the idol of Shri Ganesh should be of clay. The reason is clear from story of birth of Ganesha.
