Amaravati: Kerala Government has declared Raja Ravi Varma award to anti-Hindu painter M F Husain who has drawn indecent pictures of Hindu deities. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has submitted a representation to the District Collector of Amaravati against conferring such award to Hussain as it will amount to immense insult of Hindus. Another representation with 150 signatures was also given to the District Collctor who assured to send the representations to the Chief Minister.
People all over the country were enraged to hear the news of Kerala Govt. conferring Raja Ravi Varma award comprising of Rs.1,25,000/- in cash and a medal, on M F Husain. Many compolaints have been lodged against Hussain for hurting religious feelings of Hindus in various parts of the country, besides; cases have been filed against him in some Courts for the said offence. It is not proper to confer such award on Hussain. The representation also condemns Kerala Government for declaring the award.
It has been mentioned in the representation that Raja Ravi Varma was a great artiste. Such indecent drawings hurt feelings of Hindus. Therefore, such award should not be presented to him. Many leaders like Shri. Hemant Khatri of Kshatriya Brahmin Samaj, S/Shri. Nilesh wankhede, Kiran Vani , Anand Dau, and Sachin Thakare of HJS, Shri. Komerwar and Shri. Devarankar of Sanatan Sanstha along with several devout Hindus were present on the occasion.
