‘Language is a means of communication. We can express our thoughts, feelings, opinions through the medium of language. We can communicate with each other only through conversation and come closer to each other through conversation. Language is so important that God created ‘Geervan-vaani (Sanskrut)’ to communicate with human. There are nearly 200 languages in Hindustan. If we are able to communicate with all people speaking different languages, our will be one nation in true sense of the term. National language Hindi is an important thread to join multilingual people like us; but Hindi is the national language only for namesake. Even educated people from States like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh (excluding Hyderabad), Kerala, Karnataka (excluding Bengaluru and other main cities) are unable to speak in Hindi (so reading and writing in Hindi is impossible). Owing to obstacle of language, we cannot even communicate with each other; forget about having harmony. How can there be a feeling of ‘we are one nation’ generated amongst the people ?
1. North India
In Punjab, North India or Sindh, more than 50% words used in Hindi are Arabic, Persian or Turkish, indicating invasion of Urdu in these regions and how it has throttled other languages and to what extent. The leaders hailing from those regions are unable to avoid use of such words is indication of the extent of throttling. There are many leaders of Arya Samaj who feel that ‘Punjabi and Hindi’ languages should be released from the clutches of invasion of Arabic and Hindi language should be purified but when they try to express their views, they cannot write even a single sentence without taking help of Arabic and that too is Persian written in reverse manner. Hindi script has been killed there. Religious people read ‘Ramayana –Saar’ in Sindh and read commentary on Geeta; but in Persian script ! Civil and other scripts may be known to very few people amongst educated lot but nobody would be able to write it.
1. A. Hindus from North refer to God as ‘Maalik’ ! : Condition of Hindi is so bad in Gujarat and North India that those people refer to God as ‘Maalik’. Hundreds of people keep on talking about God as ‘Maalik’, ‘Maalik karegaa so sach !’ etc. although they have taken oath in front of us, to use the words like Prabhu, Deva and Ishwar. We have seen them using the word ‘Maalik’ all the time.

2. South India
‘Since national language Hindi has not been allowed to be accepted by all, owing to politics, people of Hindustan are not introduced as ‘Hindustani’ but as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi. Malayalam etc. In big cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad) etc. there are divisions amongst people speaking these languages. Here too, one is introduced as a Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil or Kannada etc. and they set up colonies which are also based on languages. Hindustan is one country; but is it not unfortunate if people from one region are unable to communicate with people of other regions due to language? There is no country in this world where although there is a national language, all people do not speak the same. Despite Hindi being national language, State language is kept as language of communication in different States; it is like there are many countries in one country. Tomorrow, if people demand separate country for Tamil speaking people, nobody would be surprised.’
