Karachi : Re-inquiry ordered into Hindu brothers murder

Karachi : After wrong investigation report by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hyderabad (Pakistan), re-inquiry has been assigned to DIG Police South Karachi in two Hindu brothers assassination in Umerkot.

DIG Police South Karachi Abdul Khaliq Shaikh has been directed to submit his report in detail within five days.
Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah expressing his dissatisfaction over the investigation report at a meeting said soon after incident, he had approached the administration concerned and appointed DIG Police Hyderabad to investigate into incident and identify the criminals.
Investigation report prepared by DIG Police Hyderabad was not up to mark and to identify the culprits.
Endorsing the demands of the victim family and representation of Hindu community he offered different proposals for re-investigation including judicial inquiry as well to choose the way of investigation as per their own choice. Finally after consultation and decision of Hindu participants, he appointed DIG South Karachi as inquiry officer.
He announced the compensation to the heirs of the assassinated Hindu brothers.
He said previously he had provided Rs 500 million for the repair and renovation of Sadh Bello Mandir, which was even appreciated by then Indian Foreign Minister.
He also constituted a committee headed by Sindh Minister for Minority Affairs with representation from legal fraternity and other stakeholders to identify the genuine problems/issues of minorities and suggestions/ recommendation to get the issues resolved. President Pakistan Hindu Council Chela Ram Kewlani said Hindu community under a conspiracy was being targeted, but we made it clear we were son of soil.
We neither left this soil of Sindh nor to leave support of Pakistan Peoples Party. However he sought for adopting foolproof security measures of all worship places of Hindu community and their lives and prosperity.
Minister for Minority Affairs Gian Chand, Sindh Minister Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawala, Sindh Minister Population Welfare Ali Mardan Shah, Sindh Minister Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sikandar Mendhro and others were present.
