Devrukh (Maharashtra): Shri. Ravindra Mane, ex-MLA of Shiv Sena said that a meeting will be organized shortly to create public opinion against anti-superstitions Act when members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti called on him at his residence in Devrukh. Shri. Mane said that Shiv Sena Chief has now taken interest in the matter and a committee has been formed of 8 persons to study the Act including the well-known advocate like Shri. Adhik Shirodkar and Dharmacharya and member of BJP. This committee will suggest omission of certain clauses as also modifications in some of the clauses. Shri. Mane said that he would also study the papers given by HJS and try to create public opinion against the Act.
Shri. Rajan Mahadik, Ratnagiri district-chief of Shiv Sena stated that the anti-superstitions Act will bring certain restrictions on religious freedom of Hindus and people from all walks of life should oppose this Act. He said that HJS has their support and offered to decide further course of action in consultation with all concerned parties together.
Yogiraj Bhainath Maharaj said that only a handful of persons from ANIS would be benefited by passing this Act and will bring restrictions on Hindus. He said that he, on behalf of his sampradaya, was sending his recommendation to annul the Act. He also said that he would broach the topic in ‘Dharma-Sansad’ to be held in Delhi in the next week and to start mass agitation against the Act.
