One which is easy and convenient to majority can only be the National language. Because of this in the land of majority of Hindu, the ‘Hindustan’ language which is devoted to Sanskrut will easily be the national language. Therefore, the party proud of the pure language in Hindi region, should now make Hindi totally devoted to Sanskrut, and make ‘Sanskrut based’ Hindi as the national language.
All Urdu and foreign language words which symbolize the dominance of earlier Muslim power should be openly pledged to be boycotted. Unless the policy of ‘Not even unnecessary single word of English or Urdu would be allowed to wander in Hindi’ is strictly implemented, we will not be able to win this tug-of-war of foreigner’s language invasions. The only solution to resolve the problem of national
language and national script is that every Hindu should openly and recklessly pledge that ‘national language of we Hindus is ‘Sanskrut based’ Hindi and ‘Sanskrut based’ Nagari script is our national script’!
1. Why an adjective ‘based on Sanskrut’ needs to be attached to Hindi?
‘The Hindi which we want as our national language is not the one called as Hindustani’ unless this is a clear directive, mirroring the true character of Hindi, clearing the ideological chaos regarding its name and the Hindi which we consider as our national language, the adjective which can prove its identity immediately in single word, ‘based on Sanskrut’, is first attached by me and declared
Hindi ‘based on Sanskrut’ is our national language and Devanagari is our national script.
2. Hindi language should be ‘based on Sanskrut’ is inevitable.
Now the issue of language purification is not only limited to Marathi language but it has got all India aspect. The day Hindi was decided as the national language of India, the debate started ‘as to which Hindi, based on Sanskrut or based on Arabi i.e. Hindustani?’. This debate raged intensively specially in north India. If the national language Hindi is to be enriched with words and made powerfully expressive of thoughts as good as English dominated foreign languages, then it is inevitable to be based on Sanskrut. – Swantatryaveer Savarkar.
