Zonal PI bullies HJS members

By Staff Reporter

Nipani (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) gave a representation to Shri. Shivayogi Ichungimath, the zonal police inspector (PI) in connection with prevention of malpractices carried out in the Ganeshotsava festival and to ban sale of crackers with pictures of deities and national heroes; but Shri. Ichungimath intimidated HJS members.

As HJS members went to the office of Shri. Ichungimath, he was leaving in his car. He stopped the car on seeing members of HJS. The members informed him that they wanted to submit a representation to him for taking action to prevent malpractices during Ganeshotsava celebrations and put a ban on sale of crackers with pictures of deites and national heroes. Shri. Ichungimath talked rudely to them, he said, “Keep the representation with you or give it to our ‘PSI’. There is still time for Ganeshotsava festival, what is the hurry? Don’t we know our duty?” The members told him that they felt it was their duty towards nation and Dharma to submit the representation. This statement enraged the PI more and he asked them whether he did not know his duty. He admonished the members saying that he would not spare even them if something wrong was done. Then he asked them to give a copy of the representation to him and even to ‘PSI’ and left in his car.

Many organizations, political as well as the ones involved in sports, various Sampradayas, Hindu and voluntary organizations along with their members were present on the occasion.

The representation was finally given to the Dy. Tehsildar, municipal commissioner, Nipani city police station etc. All these officials assured to take note of and take necessary action on the representation.

(Instead of helping organizations working towards protection of nation and Dharma, police are bullying them. People must complaint about such arrogant and rude police officers to their superiors. – Editor)
