Paratwada (Amaravati): Idol of Hanuman in a Hanuman temple near Hindu crematorium on Achalpur road was found damaged resulting in tension in the town. Mokshdham Samiti called a ‘Bandh’ to protest against this incident.
Some Hindus, who visited the temple, noticed that the Hanuman idol was damaged and the mace in the hand of idol was thrown in the rubble. They lodged a complaint in the police. Thereafter, a gathering of 600 people under the guidance of Shri. Manohar Gidwani and Shri. Thakurdas Sabu of VHP, Shri. Rupesh Dhepe and Shri. Gajanan Kolhe of BJP, Shri. Omprakash Dixit and Shri. Rajendra Jaiswal of Shiv Sena closed the market. Police have arrested Shri. Ramdas Tiwari, Shri. Bhola Pariwale, Shri. Gopal Nandvanshi and one more suspect in this case. Additional police force has been deployed in the area as there is still tension.
