Anti-superstitions Act will not be quashed ! – Eknath Khadase

Revenue Minister Khadase performs ‘puja’ at Pandharpur on behalf of the State Government

Pandharpur (Dist. Sholapur), Maharashtra : Newly elected Revenue Minister, Eknath Khadase said that the Anti-Superstitions Act would not be quashed ; but attempts would be made to bring clarification in the definitions of faith and superstitions. He was in Pandharpur for performing ‘puja’ on the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi at Sri Vitthal Mandir. He was talking to journalists during a press conference held at the rest house and made the above statement in reply to question asked by a reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’.

Shri. Khadase, while explaining the BJP Government’s stand on Act banning cow-slaughter, said, “This Act has been passed 15 years back when coalition Government was in power; but during Congress regime, it was kept pending. Now, within one month, we will obtain the President’s approval and implement this Act.” When asked about BJP and Shiv Sena coalition, he said that discussions were going on in that connection. “Condition of Maharashtra has deteriorated during Congress regime; but Maharashtra should regain its earlier prime position and for that, we will pray to Sri Vitthal, the most worshipped Deity of Maharashtra.” (When will BJP rulers realize that if they become active for prevention of increasing attacks on Hindu Dharma, Sri Vitthal would like that more ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) The new State Revenue Minister Eknath Khadase announced at the dawn of 3rd November that the devotees going for ‘darshan’ of Sri Vitthal should be given proper facilities. It was necessary to give priority to find solutions to the problems and he would insist to the State Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis to hold a meeting of State cabinet Ministers; so that, such solution could be found at the earliest.

On the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi, Shri. Khadase, accompanied by his wife, performed ‘puja’ of Lord Vitthal at 2.30 a.m. as a representative of Maharashtra Government. Later, he was felicitated by Sri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir Committee. Shri. Suresh and Sou. Vandana Kulkarni, a couple from Nanded, who have been regularly undertaking ‘waari’ for the past 40 years,  were also honoured by giving them an opportunity to perform ‘puja’ of Sri Vitthal. Shri. Anna Dange, the President of Mandir Committee, former Minister Babanrao Pachpute etc. were also present on the occasion.
