Patriotic citizens reported to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti that an online clothing store VoxPopClothing.com has on sale a T-shirt with an image of the National Flag on it. (Link : http://voxpopclothing.com/flags/KYFL0001MWH)
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had sent an email to 21 Trends Pvt Ltd, the owners of VoxPop Clothing to make them aware of how the T-shirt denigrates the National Flag. Any disrespect to the National Flag is punishable with imprisonment, fine or both, under the ‘The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 (amended by the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2003)’. So even though the constitution gives every proud citizen of India to hoist and display the tricolour, this freedom comes with responsibilities.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is yet to receive any intimation from VoxPop Clothing or 21 Trends Pvt Ltd. The objectionable T-shirt is still being sold, so patriotic citizens are lodging their lawful complaints with the company on the address below.
