Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : In terms of clause 2 of the regulations of Central Censor Board, the Board is expected to take care of sentiments of people; but it is observed from the certifications issued to different films by this Board that it does not give due consideration to religious sentiments of Hindus. This Board has forgotten its duty; therefore, persons with knowledge of Hindu Dharma should be appointed as members on the Board or it should be handed over to us for managing. The above demand was made by advocate Ranjit Singh Ghatge while addressing demonstrations held under Rashtriya Hindu Andolan on 16th November near Chhatrapati Shivaji’s statue.

Shri. Nikhil Navare of Yoga Vedanta Samiti said, “Adverse effect of things shown in films is seen on people. There is no control over Directors or actors and they are doing whatever they want who are depicting wrong things before people. It is very much necessary that anti-Hindu members of the Board are made to resign. If all Hindus come together and fight, the Government will have to make changes.” Shri. Mahesh Ursal, the city-chief of Bajarang Dal said that Women’s Commission does not take a proper stand on nudity in films. Our Hindu culture shows how one should behave in society.”

We should register protest against films when HJS gives us contact numbers of directors of such films. We should create pressure through such demonstrations and make the Board change its members. Shri. Vijay Gulave of Shri- Shiva-Pratishthan said, “Youth tries to emulate films. In Hindi films, it is always shown that a Hindu woman only falls in love with a jihadi/religious fanatic but its contrary is never shown. This is the reason of increasing cases of love jihad.”

Shri. Rajan Bunage and Dr. Mansingh Shinde also expressed their views on the occasion. More than 55 devout Hindus, including Shri. Raju Mewekari, the President of Mahalakshmi Anna-chhatra Mandal, members of Shiv Sena viz. Shri. Shashi Bidkar, its Karveer-taluka Chief Shri. Raju Yadav, Shri. Uday Bhosale, Hindu Ekata’s Shri. Shivajirao Sase, Sugandhi  of ‘Swayambhu Ganesh Mandir’, Shri. Suresh Chavan, Shri. Shivanand Swami and Shri. Madhukar Nazare of HJS and Sanatan Sanstha’s seekers viz. Dr. (Sou.) Shilpa Kothavale, Sou. Anita Bunage and Sou. Sudha Diwan participated in the demonstrations.
