HJS, Bajarang Dal demand: Ban crackers with deities’ pictures

By Staff Reporter

Amaravati (Maharashtra): A representation was submitted on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Bajarang Dal to the District Collector demanding imposition of ban on crackers with pictures of deities and great national leaders.

It has been stated in the representation that crackers are burst during Diwali and on other occasions that have pictures of deities and great national leaders. Pictures of deities or national leaders blow into pieces when such crackers are burst and the pieces are spread on the ground only for people to trample on them. This causes desecration of the deities and respected leaders. HJS has been fighting for this cause for the past 6 years and trying to create awareness among people; but it is necessary that the Govt. puts a ban on sale of such crackers to stop denigration completely. Sellers should be prohibited from selling crackers with pictures of deities and leaders which are known as Lakshmi Bombs, Ganesh Bombs, Netaji Bombs etc. and should take action against even sellers who try to sell these bombs. Many members of HJS and Bajarang Dal were present on the occasion.
