HJS board stands for 4 years despite opposition by fanatics !

Informative board at Vishalgad

Vishalgad (Dist. Kolhapur) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has displayed a board giving information on all places of historical importance at Vishalgad. This This Board faced opposition from fanatics on number of occasions; still it is standing there with the support of devout Hindus. Shri. Prasad Kulkarni of HJS explained that the Board was put up 4 years ago on the day of ‘Shiva-pratap Din’ in the presence of Shri. Rajesh Kshirsagar, Shiv Sena MLA, advocate Shri. Bandurkar-Joshi and Shri. Ramesh Shinde, the national Spokesperson of HJS under the movement undertaken for protection and preservation of historical places. Hundreds of history-lovers and tourists visit these places every year and they have expressed their appreciation for the Board as it gives proper information on history of the place. Owing to this board, the neglected temple on this fort also became known to devout Hindus and they started visiting this temple. The local Administration has taken note of the developments and imposed ban on consumption of liquor on Vishalgad Fort by displaying such boards in this regard.
