Pune : Plastic national flags are sold on Republic Day and Independence Day which are later found strewn all over roads leading to their abuse. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had filed a petition in High Court in this context and the High Court had instructed officers at zonal level for issuing guiding orders on the subject. Accordingly, the Rural Development and Water Conservation Department of the State has issued an order that plastic national flags should not be used in areas which are under jurisdiction of Zilla Parishads so as to avoid their abuse. Zilla Parishads and Gram Panchayats should take special care and local autonomous organizations should give extensive publicity to this drive. A reference has also been made to HJS petition in the order.
