Why Hajj is sponsered?

Going to Haj is considered to be a holy pilgrimage by Muslims. But why the Government Treasury should be taxed? The money with the Government Treasury is ultimately paid by you and me; but with this money, Muslims are going on Haj pilgrimage for years together. Do only Muslims undertake pilgrimage? There are so many places of pilgrimage for Hindus; but for not even a single place of pilgrimage, the Government gives grant. Pilgrimage to ‘Manasarovr’ is very strenuous. Besides, owing to policies of Congress Party, today the place is not a part of India. It requires permission of the Government of China to visit that place as now it is in Tibet. But our Government does not give grant for this pilgrimage. For pilgrimage to Pashupatinath, one has to go to Nepal. Every year, the Hindus undertake pilgrimage to Amaranath under the fear of terrorists’ attacks. Two years back, 20-25 pilgrims were killed by Islamic terrorists. But the Hindus kept quiet on the issue. It was only the Chief of Shivsena who roared against the massacre at that time. The Government does not extend any help to the Amarnath pilgrims other than their security. This pilgrimage is also as strenuous as that of Mansarovar. Comparatively, Haj pilgrimage does not involve any hardships. One has to embark a plane or a ship at Mumbai and get off at Mecca. This journey also costs less as Government extends grant. Actually, why one should pay for Haj pilgrimage when Muslims do not even pay income tax? As per the Shari-at law, one needs to undertake Haj pilgrimage with one’s own earnings; but for a no. of years, Government is paying for Haj pilgrimage of Muslims, poor and rich, common men and ministers all alike and Muslims are earning merit of Haj pilgrimage. Muslim leaders and ministers take the whole family for Haj.
