Amaravati (Maharashtra): Diwali, a festival of Hindus should not be celebrated by bursting crackers with pictures of deities. For the above demand and to create awareness among people, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a rally in the town.
The rally was started by Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Patashe, keertankar of Warakari Sect by performing ‘puja’ of the ‘Dharma-Dhvaja’. At the beginning of the rally, HJS banners were displayed and devout Hindus were chanting the name of God and carrying banners to create awareness among masses. Handbills explaining about denigration of deities and great national leaders caused due to bursting of crackers were also distributed during the rally. The procession was taken out through all main roads in the town. The rally was attended by Dnyneshwar Maharaj Patashe and Shri. Jayantbhau Dehankar, District general secretary of BJP along with about 150 members of HJS.
