Beed (Maharashtra): Members of various parties and organizations enlightened vendors selling crackers with pictures of deities and great national leaders and immersed such crackers.
They explained to the sellers about the principles of spirituality that how power of deities exist with sound, touch, form, smell etc. and when crackers with pictures of deities are burst, these pictures are torn to pieces resulting in their denigration. On listening to the explanation, sellers returned the crackers and assured that henceforth, they would not keep such crackers on sale. Members of different parties collected crackers worth about Rs. 10,000/- and gave them to members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Such crackers were later immersed in water by HJS members preventing denigration of deities.
