#BoycottPK : Devout Hindus lodge complaint at Cyberabad, Mumbai and Nagpur

Cyberabad (Andhra Pradesh): Devout Hindus have lodged complaints with police officers from Cyberabad, Mumbai and Nagpur. K. Karunakaran has lodged a complaint with Sarurnagar police station, Cyberabad against the film ‘PK’ and demanded that action should be taken against all concerned persons related to the film. Dr. Uday Dhuri has lodged a complaint with Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner whereas Shri. Jayant Dalvi, a devout Hindu has lodged a written complaint with Nagpur Police Commissioner, Director General of Police, Maharashtra and the State Chief Minister, about dialogues of Hindi film ‘PK’ hurting religious sentiments; e.g. sentences like ‘Those who are cowards, go to temples’; Offering milk to Shiva is superstition’, ‘Constructing of temples or going on pilgrimage is not Dharma.’ Many scenes have been picturized wherein it is shown that God has gone missing.

A demand has therefore, been made to file criminal cases under Sections 153 (A), 295 (A) and other clauses against producers, director, actors, story-writer, distributors and all concerned persons for different offences like hurting religious sentiments of Hindus; showing scenes and dialogues that would provoke Hindus’ religious sentiments leading to communal disharmony disturbing integrity and peace in society. The Chief Minister and Director General of Police have been requested to impose immediate stay on screening of the film and to raise this issue during winter session of the Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly.

 Right-Wing Outfit Seeks Ban on PK for ‘Provocative’ Content

Aamir Khan-starrer PK, which has received rave reviews and set the box-office on fire, has earned the ire of right-wing groups who claim the film hurts the sentiments of the majority community.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has sought an immediate ban on the movie, saying its content is “highly provocative” and hurts the religious sentiments of the community.

Maharashtra Coordinator of HJS Sunil Dhanvat today said the outfit has filed police complaints against the film and its makers in Navi Mumbai, Nagpur and Sangli.

HJS activist Uday Dhuri, who filed the complaint with Navi Mumbai Police after watching the Rajkumar Hirani-directed movie, said the film is openly critical of many rituals and traditions followed by Hindus and hence it should be banned.

Dhuri demanded the producers, director and artists of the film be booked for allegedly promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion and outraging religious feelings of a community, among other offences.

The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma among others, hit the theatres on December 19 and earned Rs 95.21 crore at the box-office over the weekend, said the producers.
