Spirituality can overcome violence: Sri Sri Ravishankar

Pune (Maharashtra): Nobody should support violence. It is necessary to keep away from and overcome violence. It can be achieved by imparting knowledge on Spirituality. The above statement was made by Sri Sri Ravishankar, the founder of the organization ‘Art of Living’ in a ‘Mahasatsang’ held on the J.O.T.C grounds at Yerawada.

He said further, "Even today, 28% of children do not go to school. About 31% of the educated youth is unemployed. If such youth runs schools with the help of educationists, it would help to eradicate illiteracy. Knowledge about spirituality and culture should also be included in education system. Presently, 222 districts are affected with naxalists’ activities. It is the result of our failure to educate them and make them financially independent.

He, later asked the audience to meditate and do ‘Pranayaam’. Many eminent personalities from various fields, political, social, spiritual and education, attended the discourse. A camp has been organized at the same venue from 16th to 18th November on mediation and Pranayaam.

Regarding ‘Ram-setu’, he said that existence of Prabhu Sree Rama has now been proved scientifically and therefore, intellectuals would not doubt existence of Sree Rama. These are the effects of forgetting our culture and its revival is necessary.
