Mumbai : Cyber crime police on Tuesday arrested a 43-year-old driver, Wasiq Lukman Ali, for allegedly making obscene calls to the daughter of his former employer in the city. The accused had gone to Saudi Arabia and during his stay in that country had made internet calls to the victim who is a student. The family found his voice familiar and informed the police. On investigation, the police found that the calls were being made from Saudi Arabia.

According to the police, the victim received obscene calls twice on November 24 from unknown numbers. She then continued to receive such calls from unknown numbers. When she informed her parents about it, they decided to record the conversation. She kept receiving calls from November 24 to December 19.

“The victim could not concentrate on her studies due to these calls. After listening to the recorded conversation, the mother and brother of the victim thought the voice sounded familiar and suspected it to be that of their driver Ali,” said a crime branch officer.
