Hindu Rashtra demand in Nepal provinces even higher than ever. Hindu Rashtra demand turning violent in Kathmandu as Cops and RPP-N cadres clash. Nepal may be declared as a Hindu State again in next 72 hours.
Countdown begins in Nepal for a consensual Hindu Rashtra within 22 January 2015.
Kathmandu – Tension gripped New Baneshwor on Sunday after riot police clashed with leaders and cadres of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal after they allegedly tried to enter the prohibited zone in front of the Constituent Assembly building today.
Hundreds of demonstrators led by RPN-Nepal had rallied to New Baneshwor from Babar Mahal to gherao the CA building demanding restoration of Hindu State in Nepal and promulgation of the constitution on the stipulated deadline of January 22, 2015.
Police had used ‘moderate’ force to disperse demonstrators chanting pro-Hindu slogans and holding placards and banners as they tried to advance to the prohibited zone.
District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has declared the areas from the western gate of the CA building up to New Baneshwar Chowk a prohibited area for mass assembly, rally and demonstration in view of the fact that it is a sensitive area in terms of security.
Around a dozen demonstrators received minor to moderate injury when police baton-charged them. Following the clash, they had staged a sit-in on the road for an hour and turned it into a mass meeting. Addressing the meeting, RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa warned that his party would capture the Constituent Assembly if the major political forces failed to deliver the constitution on January 22. “We will also organise nationwide protests and mass assemblies the day after January 22 in case the major parties fail to promulgate the constitution. We will not stop, we will break the police cordon and enter the CA building by that time,” he said.
RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa accused ‘the so-call democratic parties’ of betraying the people in the name of the constitution. “The parties have tried to sow the seeds of religious conflict through secularism and ethnic provinces,” he alleged.
Police have stepped up security in the capital with major focus on the CA building and other vital installations to prevent any untoward incident in the run-up to the January 22 deadline for the constitution.
