Have respect for own Dharma and drive away ‘Believers’ approaching you for conversion !- Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi, Hindu Mahasabha
Shivoli (Goa) : Our brave ancestors fought against atrocities of the Portuguese but did not give up own Dharma. We should remember their sacrifices and drive away people from ‘Believers’ permanently from own villages, stated Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi, the President of Hindu Mahasabha, Goa during Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha (sabha) held at Shri. Rashtroli Ajoba Hall, Madhale Bhat, Shivoli, Goa.
Sanatan Sanstha’s Sou. Jyoti Sudin Dhavalikar, Shri. Sudip Dalvi, a devout Hindu from Mapusa and Shri. Satyavijay Naik of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were the other dignitaries who addressed the ‘sabha’. The dignitaries arrived amidst slogans raised by the participants. The ‘sabha’ was begun with blowing of conch; followed with Shri. Shivaprasad Joshi lighting lamp. Shri. Rahul Vaze and Shri. Pavan Barve recited ‘Veda-mantras’ purifying atmosphere of the venue.
Shri. Prabhakar Prabhu, a local freedom fighter felicitated the speakers. Shri. Rohidas Shirodkar, a devout Hindu from Mapusa, who prevented denigration of Sri Ganesha by re-immersing idols during Ganesha festival which had floated back to the bank of river, was also felicitated on the occasion. Shri. Sudip Dalvi, Sou. Jyoti Dhavalikar and Shri. Naik expressed their views.
All participants signed a representation to be submitted to the Government demanding ban on celebration of Valentine Day for putting curb on western customs and protect our ancient Indian culture. A VCD giving information about ‘Hindu Vaartaa’, a Hindu channel was released on this occasion.
Resolutions passed in the ‘sabha’
• Attacks by anti-Hindus on Hindu temples, Sanatan ashram and seats of worship of Hindus should be stopped and criminals should be stringently punished.
• Implement Act banning conversion in Goa.
• Pass an Act to ban cow-slaughter in Goa.
•Those who denigrate Hindus’ Deities through advertisements, plays, films, paintings, writings and products etc. should be severely punished.
