Malaysia’s Fatwa – “Indians! Quit!”

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia): The Malaysian government has declared a ban on jobs of workers of Indian origin from 18th December 2007. About one lakh Indian workers have been ordered to leave the country as soon as the period of their visa ends. However, the Malaysian ministers have been ambiguously said no to such incidence, there is no sign that the Bharat government will do anything in this regard.

The Malaysian government has made a law that all the workers on the Malaysian airports should be Malaysian only. The Nepalese workers will be affected by the law. However, the government officials said that the Malaysian government had brought a law that ‘no new employee or workers from Bharat be appointed’.

The situation has come to such a pass because the ethnic Indians in Malaysia had agitated against the atrocities on them in that county. However, the labour minister of Malaysia, Mr. Sami Velu denied the fatwa by way ambiguously, “There are Indian workers in our country; we do get their services whenever we want.” Shri Vylar Ravi, who looks after the NRI department said, “We believe on the explanation given by Malaysia.  However, when we get any further information in this regard, we shall look into the matter.”
