MGP MLA slays CPI (M); Supports HJS’ DharmasabhaMGP MLA Shri. Sudin Dhavalikar slaying CPI (M)’s false allegation about engaging in communal activities said that, religion and politics are two different issues. He also expressed his wholehearted support to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s (HJS) Dharmasabha mentioning that he had attended it at two places in Goa. (Congratulations to MGP MLA Shri. Sudin Dhavalikar for standing by HJS’ activities for uniting Hindus and bringing about religious awareness in them. Persons like him are the real strength of Hindu Dharma. Shri. Dhavalikar has set an example for other Hindu politicians who should take a lesson or two from his stand in this regard. – Editor) Given below is an extract of his press release. Religion, politics are two different issues: SudinPanjim, JAN 30 — Responding to the press communiqué from the CPI-M, Sudin Dhavalikar today said, "Religion and politics are two different issues." "Nobody can stop me from participating in my dharma," he said slaying the CPI-M for attempting to create differences. Dhavalikar said that the Sabha has been organized successfully in Goa in the past in Bicholim and Mapusa and was even attended by him then. Dhavalikar further said that he not only participates in programmes of his own dharma but also in the Old Goa feast thereby cutting across communal lines. He also said that the forthcoming Sabha is being organized at the GEC ground for the simple reason that there is no other ground available in Ponda. He further countered queries on the issue pointing out that most Muslim prayer sessions are also held on sports grounds in the state. |
Keep away from Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha – Marxist
Panaji: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) which has support of RSS and Bajarang Dal, is organizing 'Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha' at Farmagudi, Ponda on 1st February on the grounds of Goa Engineering College. In this connection, a circular has been issued by Thelman Pereira, Secretary of Marxist Communist Party (MCP), Goa appealing 'Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party (MGP)' to keep away from this meeting. (Hindus should keep in mind these anti-Hindu communists who are trying to keep away the rulers from religious meeting – Editor).
MCP's Pereira has written in the circular letter, "It is surprising that two MLAs of MGP have agreed to be guests of honour at the meeting. It is learnt that the purpose of holding the meeting is to awaken Hindus to the animosity shown by Muslims and Christians against them. (The meeting organized by HJS is to awaken the lifeless Hindus towards assaults carried out in various ways against their Dharma and is not for instigating them against any religion – Editor).
On one hand, MLAs of MGP go to Delhi and join Congress and Nationalist Congress Parties and on the other hand, they are participating in the propaganda carried out by BJP, RSS and Bajarang Dal which is very astonishing" (Politicians are coming together forgetting their differences at party level as they have realized the objective and need for holding Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabhas. This was experienced even in the meeting held at Jalgaon; but members of MCP would never understand its significance – Editor).
It has been further mentioned in the circular that MCP seeks explanation even from Congress and NCP Government in the State that how have they allowed such fascist powers to make use of public places? In Maharashtra, the Government run by Congress and NCP is trying to pass a Bill against superstitions and blind faith and in this meeting to be held in Goa, protest would be registered against the Bill. The same two parties are in power even in Goa. Therefore, it would amount to opposing the proposed Bill by the parties who promote same policies. Moreover, it is wrong to make available the ground of engineering college that advocates scientific approach to everything. (HJS activities involve protection of nation and Dharma so Hindus should not forget these people who are against HJS. – Editor)
The Marxist’ Communist Party of India (CPIM) and the Citizens Initiative for Communal Harmony (CICH) have issued press notes expressing their opposition to the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s (HJS) Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha to be held on the 1st February 2008. They have also spread false propaganda about the same and defamed the HJS’ activities for no reason. The HJS has strongly protested against the false allegations made by the above said parties made. Given below is a full story of the actual facts and the misinformation spread in this regard by daily Navhind Times and Herald, which are two leading newspapers in Goa. In response to the news 'Dissociate from Hindu Janajagruti Sabha, CPI-M tells MGP,' published in the 'Navhind Times' on the 30th January 2008, HJS’ Goa State spokesperson Dr. Manoj Solanki has given the following clarifications.
News published in the Herald
1. GCE principal says no to Hindu meet
By Herald reporter
Panjim, Jan 30: The proposed Hindu Janjagruti Sabha being organized in Goa from February 1 has run into a controversy over its venue which they have declared as Goa College of Engineering (GCE) grounds at Farmagudi, Ponda, which is government property. The controversy picked up momentum earlier this week following wide publicity accorded to the Sabha and its venue all over the State. According to critics, the Sabha is being attended and addressed by prominent leaders from the BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal. Following strong criticism from various quarters, the Principal of the GCE Krishna M Gupt clarified that the college has not granted any permission and GCE principal says no to Hindu meet has conveyed its actions to the government. Gupt speaking to Herald on Wednesday said, “It is a fact that the organisers approached the college seeking to use the college grounds.” The principal further said that there appears to be some misunderstanding on the issue as the college did not consent to the use of its grounds and instead forwarded the application to the government.Gupt told Herald that the government has got back to the college stating that the grounds cannot be used. He said this has been conveyed to the organisers. Herald understands that the Sabha scheduled earlier in January this year failed to take off as the SDM, Ponda rejected applications for licenses for use of sound systems on the grounds that the Ponda civic elections were scheduled and no permissions would be issued until January 29.

2. Dissociate from Hindu Sabha CPI (M) tells MGP MLA's
Panjim, 30 Jan: The CPI-M has also come down heavily against the Hindu Janjagruti Sabha. The CPI-M has taken note of the participation of the MGP MLAs in the Sabha and has urged the party MLAs to disassociate from the RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal supported Hindu Janajagruti Sabha. According to the CPI(M) Secretary Thalmann Pereira the objectives of the proposed meeting is to allegedly counter the Muslim and Christian religions, which are portrayed to be against the Hindu religion. Pereira has raised queries as to how the MGP MLAs supporting the Congress and NCP leaders in New Delhi are sharing the same platform with BJP-RSS-VHP-BajrangDal stalwarts for such propaganda in Goa. The CPI(M) has also questioned the wisdom of the Congress-NCP alliance Government in Goa in allowing the government property for alleged communal purpose.CICH: A delegation from the Citizens' Initiatives for Communal Harmony called on the Chief Secretary and made representations to the Chief Minister and Education Secretary regarding the proposed 'Dharma Janjagruti Sabha' to be held at Farmagudi on February 1. The organizers, the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS), have issued a pamphlet stating that the meet will be organised on the grounds of Government Engineering College, Farmagudi. According to the pamphlet, the programme at Farmagudi is to be addressed and attended by prominent leaders of the BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal. The stated objectives of the proposed meeting are to counter the assaults by Muslims and Christians, who are portrayed as aggressors against the Hindu religion, Ramesh Gauns, the convenor said in a press note issued here. The provocative agenda listed in the pamphlet is clearly intended to create a feeling of siege and paranoia within the Hindu community, and thus lay the ground for reprisals against these imagined assaults on Hindus and the Hindu religion, he added.

HJS response to news published in Herald.
To,
The Editor,
Herald,
Dear Sir,
This is in response to the news 'GCE principal says no to Hindu meet' and 'Dissociate from Hindu Janajagruti Sabha.CPIM tells MGP MLA's published in your daily on 31-01-2008, which has given misinformation about events and facts and made false allegations about the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and its forthcoming 'Dharmajagruti Sabha' to be held on 1st February.
It is stated that
1. 'Herald understands that the Sabha scheduled earlier in January this year failed to take off as the SDM, Ponda rejected applications for licenses for use of sound systems on the grounds that the Ponda civic elections were scheduled and no permissions would be issued until January 29.'
In fact this was in the case of permission was for the small corner meetings (Kopra Sabha) meant for publicity of Dharmajagruti sabha and not for the big 'Dharmajagruti Sabha' as stated in the above news which is misleading and defamatory.
2. The CPI-M has also come down heavily against the Hindu Janjagruti Sabha. The CPI-M has taken note of the participation of the MGP MLAs in the Sabha and has urged the party MLAs to disassociate from the RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal supported Hindu Janajagruti Sabha
We would like to mention that what is wrong about them to attend this sabha as Hindus when this sabha is meant to educate Hindus about their religion and guide them about their day to day religious practices, which is the need of the hour for Hindus. What can one say about the Chief Minister attending the Haj pilgrimages function in official capacity? And also about the Chief Minister's visit to the Archbishop?
3.According to the CPI(M) Secretary Thalmann Pereira the objectives of the proposed meeting is to allegedly counter the Muslim and Christian religions, which are portrayed to be against the Hindu religion.
4.The provocative agenda listed in the pamphlet is clearly intended to create a feeling of siege and paranoia within the Hindu community, and thus lay the ground for reprisals against these imagined assaults on Hindus and the Hindu religion, Ramesh Gauns, the convenor of Citizens' Initiatives for Communal Harmony said in a press note issued here
When the threat of Jihadi terrorist is a world wide problem and the incidences of religious conversions are going on in a large scale in Goa with so much unrest in the state and communal tensions how is this not justified? In fact there has been a steep rise in the incidences of Hindu temple destruction with damage to Sakhleshwar temple in Panaji on 21-01-2008 and idols at Bondla of Shree Betal, Shree Vetal and Gajantlaxmi on 24-01-2008 with the failure of the government to curb or solve these crimes and also the previous damage to Hindu temples over the period of 4 years. In fact the police has publicly admitted its inability to provide security to the temples and in such a situation it becomes very much necessary to awaken Hindus about this dangerous situation wherein they would be the next targets.
In view of the above incidents, such baseless statements by Ramesh Gauns ,the Convenor of 'Citizens Initiatives for Communal Harmony' calling these assaults on Hindus and religion as imagined and create a feeling of siege and paranoia within the Hindu community, speak of his being in out of touch with reality.
It appears that there are deliberate attempts to bring obstacles in the activities of education of Hindus about their religion and awakening them against the various aggressions on Hindu Dharma by calling them communal and the upcoming 'Dharmajagruti Sabha' at Farmagudi Ponda. In fact there has not been any incident about such an event on account of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti's activities .The Samiti on the other hand has helped the society and the country at large by undertaking various campaigns like 'Campaign against Public Nuisances due to Narakasur Effigy', 'Respect the National Flag Campaign' and many other campaigns.

Dissociate from Hindu Janjagruti Sabha, CPI-M tells MGP
NT Staff Reporter
Panaji, Jan 29 The Goa state committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has called upon the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party (MGP) to completely disassociate itself from the RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal supported Hindu Janajagruti Sabha to be held at Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi, on February 1, 2008.
An official press release by the CPI(M) secretary Mr Thalmann Pereira said that as the proposed meeting is to be addressed and attended by prominent leaders of BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal, it is surprising that both the MGP MLAs as also some other prominent MGP leaders are scheduled to attend the proposed meeting.
The stated objectives of the proposed meeting are to counter the Muslim and Christian religions, which are portrayed as aggressors against the Hindu religion. It is amazing as to how the MGP MLAs can meet with top Congress and NCP leaders in New Delhi, even while sharing the same platform with BJP-RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal stalwarts for such rabid propaganda in Goa.
The CPI(M) has also questioned the wisdom of the Congress-NCP alliance government in Goa in allowing the public property of the people to be used for communal purposes.
Further, while the Congress-NCP government of Maharashtra has brought forth a law to suppress superstitious practices, the proposed Hindu Janajagruti meeting at Farmagudi has declared its objective to oppose the law. The CPI(M) wonders as to whether the local Congress-NCP leaders are aware that they are abetting the crime of supporting superstitious practices which are banned by their counterparts in Maharashtra. It is also surprising that the premises of the premier scientific establishment like Goa Engineering College are being utilised for propagating obscurantism. The CPI(M) has called upon all the progressive sections of Goan society to ponder over these questions and raise their voice in protest, the press release said
HJS responce to Navhind Times
To,
The Editor,
The Navhind Times,
This is in response to the news 'Dissociate from Hindu Janjagruti Sabha, CPI-M tells MGP,' published in the 'NavhindTimes 'today that is 30-01-2008,which has made false allegations about the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and its forthcoming 'Dharmajagruti Sabha' to be held on 1st February at Farmagudi Ponda.
The CPI(M) secretary Mr Thalmann Pereira in his press statement has expressed his surprise over both the MGP MLAs as also some other prominent MGP leaders scheduled to attend the proposed meeting.
Also about the Chief Minister's visit to the Archbishop?
The press note states that the objectives of the proposed meeting are to counter the Muslim and Christian religions, which are portrayed as aggressors against the Hindu religion and call it rabid propaganda in Goa.
When the threat of Jihadi terrorist is a world wide problem and the incidences of religious conversions are going on in a large scale in Goa with so much unrest in the state and communal tensions calling them as unjustified and rabid is just making a laughing stock of himself.
The press note has also criticised HJS’ opposition to the Maharashtra Superstitious Practices Law.
HJS would like to mention that the CPI (M) secretary is not fully aware of the factual situation with regard to the Maharashtra Superstitious Practices Law (Anti-Faith Bill), and is shooting in the dark probably at the behest of some vested interests The truth is that the Maharashtra State Government had sought suggestions from the public on the said Anti-Faith Bill after there was severe opposition to the same in the state of Maharashtra. The Joint Review Committee (JRC) set for analysing this bill will be taking a decision based on opinions, suggestions and objections from the public and members of both the Houses (Legislative Assembly and Council). When there is some problem with the law, there is always stiff opposition to it and the government had to send it to the Joint Review Committee (JRC). We would like to bring to the notice of readers that the CPI(M) secretary Mr Thalmann Pereira is misleading the public by giving incorrect information. For more details, please visit https://www.hindujagruti.org/activities/campaigns/religious/anti-faith-bill/
The HJS further states that, it appears that there are deliberate attempts to bring obstacles in the activities of imparting education to Hindus about their religion and awakening them against the various aggressions on Hindu Dharma by labeling such activities and the upcoming 'Dharmajagruti Sabha' at Farmagudi, Ponda, Goa as communal and rabid. The fact is that there has not occurred any such communal incident about such an eventon account of the HJS’ activities .The HJS on the other hand has helped the society and the country at large by undertaking various awareness campaigns like 'Campaign against Public Nuisances due to the practice of Narakasur Effigy burning'', 'Respect the National Flag Campaign' and many other campaigns.
