Pass ‘Uniform Civil Code’- demand demonstrators  

Devout Hindus submitting representation to the District Collector, Karwar

Uttar Kannada (Karnataka) : Demonstrations were held under the aegis of ‘Rashtriya Hindu Andolan’ at Karwar on 11th February and at Bhatkal and Shirsi on 12th February for the demands viz. opposition to Valentine Day celebrations and for passing ‘Uniform Civil Code’ in the country. A representation was later submitted in the name of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi to the District Collector, Karwar and Dy. District Collectors at Bhatkal and Shirsi. Members of VHP, HJS, seekers of Sanatan Sanstha and many devout Hindus participated in the demonstrations. It was demanded that celebration of Valentine Day which is against Indian culture, should be banned as it is creating downfall in moral values amongst young generation. The other demand was for passing of Uniform Civil Code in India in view of increasing population of Muslims.
