Hindu Samhati celebrated it’s 7th anniversary at Kolkata in grand style. About 30,000 supporters of the organization across length and breadth of West Bengal assembled at Esplanade roaring through different roads of the city. Besides hiring private vehicles like lorry or van, people also came to the rally using public transport like train and buses. The rally started with deep prajwalan (lighting of lamp) and offering floral tribute to Bharat Mata. In his inaugural speech, Vice President of Hindu Samhati, Advocate Brojen Roy set the tune of the rally by emphasizing on the need of Hindu unity. It was followed by blessings of Swami Tejasananda Ji Maharaj. Former professor of London School of Economics, Dr. Gautam Sen said that Hindus never consider any other religion as it’s enemy but if other religion attack them to establish their supremacy, Hindus have all the right to counter the attack. Hindu Samhati President, Sri Tapan Ghosh, advised the crowd to be prepared enough to ensure their own security and not to depend on police for that as he counted many instances where police has failed to protect themselves under jihadi threats. He warned Hindus not to become a mere tool for fulfilling aspirations of political parties and urged them to maintain strong vigil on activities of every political party. He claimed that just like Congress, Communists and TMC, BJP in West Bengal is also pursuing the policy of minority appeasement. He demanded fulfillment of pre-poll promises, like stopping of cow trafficking, strong action against infiltrators from Bangladesh, Declassification of files related to Netaji, made by Sri Narendra Modi. He warned BJP that relying on only development, ignoring it’s ideology shall result in electoral debacle as happened in Delhi assembly election a few days ago.
