Mumbai: In an editorial in its party mouthpiece, Saamna edited by Bal Thackeray, the Shiv Sena said it was time for Hindus to unite to save the nation from Islamic aggression.
It said the Sena had always supported the Marathi manoos, but today it was necessary for the Marathi manoos and Hindutva policies to go hand-in-hand to tackle Islamic "threats.""A Marathi remains the prime person in Maharashtra and we do not require anyone’s permission to fight for his rights, but the time had come to come together to save the nation," the editorial said.
Without naming the MNS, the Sena mouthpiece said: "In an attempt to project as crusaders of Mumbai, these few boys behaved in a manner that is nothing but a desperate attempt to get free publicity"."Whenever the country is in danger, one should not look at regional and linguistic disputes and no one is a Marathi, Bengali, Kanandi or a north Indian. What is needed at this juncture is to evict those Bangladeshi infiltrators who foment trouble in the state," it said.
